Welcome back to School and to our Health Center

Our Health Center provides care during the regular school hours.  We are staffed by a nurse, a nurse practioner, and a mental health therapist.

Parents, if you would like to update your student’s health needs and give permission for your child to use the school-based health centers, please fill out the consent form and return it to the Sheldon Health Center.

CONSENT FORM 2010

We are pleased to have new staff this year in our Sheldon Health Center.  Kari Christiansen is our School Nurse.  Kathleen Ybanez joins us as our Health Assistant, and  Tricia Schroffner is our Nurse Practitioner who will be at both the Sheldon and North Clinics.

Summer 2011

Hello friends of the Health Center.  Hard to believe we’re facing the end of the school year this week.   We made do with lots of changes this year.  Highlights were our vibrant TAC students and Benefit committee that put on the 5th annual Hands for Health Benefit this past May, raising $26,000.  Outstanding help from our community of supporters, making health care more accessible.   We saw lots of children this year.  See “who we saw” below.

As our 2010-2011 school year winds down, so does our health center.  Our last day to see students will be Thursday, June 16, 2010.   We will close for the summer and re-open when the new school year starts in the fall, 2011.

We hope everyone will enjoy the summer as a time to make friends, explore the world, read good books, and tend your gardens.

Vaccines available

The Sheldon Health Center has vaccines available to all children in Eugene.

We offer all the required vaccines the students need, as well as some optional vaccines as well.  We also have the seasonal flu shots that cover both the H1N1 virus, and the regular flu virus, in just one dose.  We currently DO NOT carry the nasal spray form of the vaccine.  The flu shot is available to all children under the age of 19.  Unfortunately this year we are unable to offer flu shots for adults.

We can bill insurance, as well as offer sliding scale payments. No one is turned away for an inability to pay.

Please come by and see us if you have questions or in need of a vaccine. We are here for you!
